I'd like to welcome the Seattle Post-Intelligencer to the world of pureplay, online-only local Internet sites. They have a heckuva a jumpstart with their level of web traffic which any local site would be thrilled to have. Unfortunately, there are many other items that they must put in place to succeed.
Having spent the last 13 years off and on working on local Internet media, I've made my share of mistakes and have learned many lessons along the way. I've applied those to the site that I own and run (SunValleyOnline.com) and have managed to build a modestly profitable business.

I agree, ghost-tweeting poses many of the same problems as ghost-blogging — you can undermine your own credibility by engaging in it. But I disagree that the fact that some people will inevitably try this erodes the overall value of Twitter or its perception of authenticity
