I only had two issues with the Kindle 1 (definitely not deal breakers) and they seemed to have solved them with the Kindle 2. I'm so happy with my purchase. My Kindle goes absolutely everywhere with me! It's one of the best gadgets in the world!

If you search (just start typing) on the 'home' page you will search all books, it shows you the number of matches in each book, and you then select the book to see the passages in that book.

Thanks for the link, Amy.

I had missed the portion of your story about the revenue questions that sci-fi and fantasy writers are bringing up in the Kindle store. I was very surprised to see the price difference between the Kindle store and the Stanza store -- maybe the contract terms are part of that?

I also found this statement of purpose interesting (http://www.baen.com/Library/). Basically, in 2000, the sci-fi publisher Baen Books decided to deal with piracy by giving away some content for free, reasoning that people can get a taste for authors' work that way, and make a buying decision later. There haven't been many recent comments on the site, but they're still offering up works for free.

Best, Rob
