  1. I couldn’t believe it, either. Goes to show that content remains king. They probably could have done more with WordPress (or rolled something really fancy with Drupal or Django) but Blogger was enough. What consistently made 538 work was the two authors’ ability to explain polls and show what was happening on the ground.

    Though, if Blogger craps out on them tonight, I take all that back ;)

  2. As the previous commenter says, it is the content NOT the technology that is important with blogs. Many people continue to use blogger (blogspot) because it is so blindingly simple. They don’t want to have to worry about the details of dealing anything beyond type and publish.

    At least it still produces a web feed, so I never have to notice that they use a particular blogging platform.
