Well, maybe it’s just my own sensitivity, but I value it when someone with lots of online media curiosity but little experience or knowledge gets the courage to ask a very basic question, especially in public. People in that position often get mocked because their question is basic — and that can shut them down.

I know you were just joking. But it could seem like a smackdown to someone who’s honestly trying to learn, and it happened on my site.

But mainly, I just love that dorky picture of you and wanted another excuse to show it

so snark back, I can take it Or let me buy you a beer next time I see you.

Dear hehehe…(although I think you meant “heeheehee”; “hehehe” sounds like Fat Albert). I didn’t ask “what’s a website”; I asked Amy to discuss the differences between a blog and website in today’s world. And thanks for your thoughtful response, Amy, it was most helpful. I have a bare-bones website (and my own domain name) with Homestead. I’m learning Drupal at work. Now I just need to decide between the two. Dan
