Dear Amy,
Sounds like you're doing the right thing. I noticed you signed up on reporTwitters.com. Good move. We (I co-founded this thing) are pondering similar issues to the ones you comment on so often. Since the US races started off the Twitter/Reporting issue has moved to the spotlight some more and the first mainstream media are starting to embed their reporters' Tweets. That's all good. It all builds audiences and I think that those media that opt for Twittering in their reporting are engaging in valuable community building that others miss out on.
I will soon be in touch with the newsletter. For the time being, check out the reporTwitters blog: http://blog.reportwitters.com
Regards,
Angelique van Engelen

Hey, that's a great idea. Dwight Silverman at the Houston Chronicle's TechBlog found the same thing when he experimented with Twittering a conference session -- those who were interested thought it was great, those who didn't went to "Unfollow." :)

If I ever cover a speaker or conference, I think I'll try this. Just note periodically on your regular Twitter post where you are and what you're doing.
