Hey Amy... Over on Odeo they are just implementing a great way to share your favourite podcasts. Check it out here. Looks promising. Once they get the web feed working, it will let the average user program their own "Internet radio station" of sorts. Thanks for sharing your list, Future Tense is a favourite of mine too.

I'm right with you with n the Media" and Polyamory Weekly. I find that a lot of KCRW's content is useful, such as "Left, Right, & Center" and "Open Source". "Tech Nation with Moira Gunn" a good listen, as well as the series that Wired news puts out from their columns such as the Luddite, Regina Lynn, and iMomus. The most recent "must listen" is Penn Jillette's radio show, which is occasionally inane but has a tone to it that I appreciate, fellow performer and ham that I am.

Still, those really are too commercial to fit my own view of a "podcast", and I sometimes think that I really should delve back into more of the home-grown content. The idea of a local podcast seems like a really good one, and I need to find out if Madison has one. Thanks for the tip-off on SlashDot, too. Wonder if there's one like that for Digg?

Lastly, you can always roll-your-own. I didn't feel like shelling out a subscription fee for a certain liberal broadcaster, but I can't always listen to her show. So my computer records the streaming broadcast every morning and automatically sends it to iTunes, where I can listen to it at my liesure, skipping the commercials. Audio Hijack Pro from Rogue Amoeba is my friend...

When do we get to hear more from you? In all your copious free time, of course...
