As I mentioned earlier, the server which had been hosting Contentious for years has been experiencing major, major woes, so I had to find a new residence for this humble weblog.
Well, last night my husband and I made the switch, and Contentious is now live at its new home…
My choice: Westhost. I selected them because they offered a great package at a great price, they’ve been around for a long time and are very established (in fact, I hosted sites with them several years ago), their instructional content is generally well written and user-friendly, their user interfaces are pretty straightforward, and they offer good support via several channels. And of course, they meet all my technical requirements.
Many thanks to the Contentious readers who suggested various hosts. I checked out all those suggestions, and seriously considered several of them.
…Of course, ideally this hosting switch is not something you’d notice if I hadn’t mentioned it. All my content and original URLs (including my feed) should remain unchanged, from your perspective.
