Amy

I think you followed trackback to comment on my post about this one, but I was flying through blacklist deletions and lost it! Just want to say thanks again for a very useful post. I use Dave's OPML editor to keep up the travel node at iPodder, but you've given me confidence to go beyond that.

Best

Hi Amy. Great post.

You're on a mac, right? I've been outlining on the mac for a few years - my tool of choice is OmniOutliner 3 Pro (www.omnigroup.com). It's a richer outliner from a gui perspective than the opml.org outliner, and can import/export opml. It also does a rather nifty job of exporting to Word. What OmniOutiner sorely lacks is any type of collaborative component, such as outline sharing/subscription/notification which is, quite frankly, the genius of the opml.org outliner.

OmniOutliner 3 Pro is pretty expensive, but you can upgrade the free version (2.0) that came with your 'pro' mac (powermac/powerbook) to get a discount.

Although this sounds like a commercial. I'm not anything to do with them - it's just a tool I use all day long and love to bits.

Amy, great post on OPML! I really like your wish list,
and your comments about some of the needs of OPML are Right On!

Check out this cool OPML work in Flash by Kosso who is one
of the OPML Developers:

http://blogs.opml.org/kosso/

There are others I could mention, but Kosso is doing some
fine work right now.

This is GREAT. Until now, I've gotten completely lost and given up trying to figure out what OPML is, what it's for and how to use it. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Amy.
