More Goodies: My Podcast Links

Here’s another new addition to CONTENTIOUS. Look over in the right-hand column of any page on this site. See the Other Goodies heading? Look at the bottom of that section. I’ve added some links for easy access to some interesting podcast-related links…

Podcasts I subscribe to is the current lists of audio shows I’ve subscribed to in my podcatcher software (basically, it’s just a special feed reader that automatically grabs new audio show files as soon as they’re posted online).

If you click on that link, you’ll probably see a very ugly page of computer code because it’s not a web page, it’s an OPML file. Don’t worry about how it looks or the details of OPML. Just download that file and import it into your podcatcher.

My podcast list changes a lot – almost daily. I’m constantly checking out new shows and unsubscribing from shows that aren’t absolutely compelling to me. I can’t say I absolutely recommend everything on this list, because so much of this I’m just checking out. But enough people have asked me to share my list, so here it is.

If you want a more comprehensive list of podcasts to choose from, try one of the major directories like the ones at iPodder.org or Podcast Alley.

Women in Podcasting. My list and Blogdigger group needed to be easier to find. So now I have a direct link to both of these resources, from every page of this site.

What’s a podcast? I’ve also added an easy-to-find link for my visitors who are brand new to podcasting.

Enjoy!

  1. Sorry, I don’t know what to tell you. I’m not getting that same error when I import the file into any of my feed readers or podcatchers. Sounds like a windows thing.

I just exported this OPML file straight from iPodder, it wasn’t hand-coded. You might try editing out the offending line and see if it works for you then.

  2. There seems to be an error with that OPML file.
IE and Doppler both give the same error message
    about an expected semicolon.

FYI the IE error is copied below.

    Thanks,
    Andrew.

A semi colon character was expected. Error processing resource ‘http://blog.contentious.com/podcastlist.opml’. Line 25, Position 163
